Elvara Travel ("Elvara," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Elvara Travel mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information. When you create an account we collect your email address, first name, and last name. If you sign up with a password we store a securely hashed version; we never store plaintext passwords.

Travel Preferences. During onboarding you may provide travel goals, budget level, dietary restrictions, travel style, pace preference, safety preference, and home currency. This data powers personalized recommendations.

Trip Data. Destinations you save, trips you create (including dates and purpose), packing lists, and itineraries are stored in your account.

Chat Messages. Messages you send to the Elvara AI assistant are transmitted to our AI service provider (OpenAI) to generate responses. Chat history is stored to provide conversation continuity.

Location Data. With your permission, we may access your device's approximate location to recommend nearby destinations and provide location-relevant travel information. Location data is processed on-device and is not stored on our servers or shared with third parties.

Content Reports. If you report a response from the travel assistant, we collect the reported message content, your selected reason, and the conversation context. This data is used solely to review and improve content quality, and is retained for up to 90 days before automatic deletion.

Usage Data. We collect standard server logs including IP addresses, request timestamps, and request paths for security monitoring and rate limiting.

Subscription Data. If you subscribe to Elvara Pro, payment processing is handled by Apple (via the App Store) and RevenueCat. We receive subscription status information but do not process or store payment card details.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Verification codes expire after 10 minutes and are automatically cleaned up. Chat history is retained until you clear it. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure password hashing (bcrypt), HTTP security headers, rate limiting, and input validation. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
